- In case the horses are imported from the European Union, please deposit the following documents at the Department of Veterinary Health Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries:-
- Documented results of tests done either at laboratories approved by the European Union or at the Horse Research Laboratory, Dubai, P.O. Box: 597 Dubai, Tel: 375165, Fax: 368638
- The horses’ import forms
- Copies of the horses’ registration documents
Import permit will be issued upon receipt of the required tests and documents (Please notice that the horses should be correctly registered according to the rules and regulations of the European Union).
- Horses must be vaccinated against Equine Influenza 14 days prior to their export to the Sultanate of Oman.
- The horses must be accompanied with
- A medical certificate issued by a Government recognised veterinary doctor from the country of origin according to the decision of the European Union
- Properly completed Health Certificate including dates of test and vaccinations made
- A full description of the horses through completion of required charts or the horses’ passports issued by the approved national authority
- Horses from non-GCC States must enter the Sultanate by Air
Upon arrival in the Sultanate, horses will be placed in quarantine for 28 days, and subjected to further medical tests as per requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries
