The Royal Camels Unit is responsible for all aspects related to the care, nutrition, health, training, and taming of camels belonging to His Majesty. Responsibilities include:-
- Adherence to scientific methods of modern biotechnology at “The Camel Breeding Centre”
- Accurate recording of the camels’ ancestry and other details
- Preparation of programmes for annual races and for participation in special shows
- Participation in local and regional races, and maintenance of race result logs
- Encouragement of camel sports within the Sultanate through national camel races
- Monitoring of local, regional and international changes that take place in the field of camel sport
