Royal Cavalry

                
The main functions of the Royal Cavalry are:
  

  1. Managing and developing  equines of various types,

  2. Provision of horses as per requirement

  3. Breeding and training of horses

  4. Maintenance of equine pedigree

  5. Equine health supervision

  6. Determination of suitable equine diets

  7. Generation of plans for horse races

  8. Maintenance of detailed equine records,

  9. Recording of all changes

  10. Participation in local, regional and international races according to stipulated policies

  11. Maintenance of detailed record of race results

  12. Qualify and train new recruits of the Cavalry

  13. Develop the Jockey’s skills in races, ceremonies and Equestrian coordination

  14. Exchange of information with other International and National Equestrian centres

Horses Registration Department

The Horses Registration Department records information on equine ancestry, pedigree, and coordinates on such matters with international organisations.  

It is also responsible for providing following services to The Royal Cavalry:-

  • Registration of all equine particulars in minute detail during the equine’s existence in the Royal Cavalry

  • Formation of a file on each horse containing all important information – Photograph, Date of Birth, Certificate of Descent, remarkable features, medical reports, results of the races it participated in, etc. 

  • Registration of authentic Arab horses in Oman with the International Organisation for Arab Horses

  • Maintenance of record of pure horses at The International Organisation for Pure Horses

  • Exchange of information on equine pedigree with international Equine Registration Offices

  •  Classification and recordings of blood group of each new born horse after analysis

  • Maintenance of records and contact with local and international authorities, persons, and organisations concerned with the horse’s affairs

  • Details in changes of horse ownership

  • Creation and maintenance of database on each horse in the Royal Cavalry

  • Collection of all details related to publicity -- registration, publication, and filming of Royal Cavalry activities

  •  Preparation and publication of special booklets that include details about individuals and horses participating in a race

  • Coordination with publicity and media authorities regarding broadcasting and recording of Royal Cavalry activities

  • Preparation and publication of special booklets related to horses ancestry as available in the records of Royal Cavalry
